Hugo Dellien Beats Matej Dodig to Win Trieste Challenger

Hugo Dellien completed a three-set comeback against Matej Dodig to win the 2026 Città di Trieste Challenger title.

The second-seeded Bolivian defeated sixth seed Dodig 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 in the clay-court final.

Dodig moved ahead after edging the opening set, but Dellien responded by taking a tight second set. The Bolivian then assumed control of the deciding set, winning it 6-2 to complete the turnaround.

The result gives Dellien another important title on clay, a surface on which his consistency and physical durability have traditionally made him a difficult opponent.

For Dodig, the defeat ends an otherwise impressive week in which he reached the final as the sixth seed.
